SHA'BAAN
1424
15 Sha'baan Laylatul-Baraat (Night of Emancipation) THE MONTH OF SHA’BAN: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) described Sha’baan as his month, and Ramadaan as the month of Allah. He, therefore, fasted a lot during Sha’baan. However, it is preferable not to fast after the 15th of the month. LAYLATUL-BARAAT: Also known as Shabe-Baraat, this is the 15th night of Sha’baan, a night of special virtue and blessing. Acts of merit on this occasion are: Fasting on the 15th day, any form of nafl ibadat at night, such as salah, quran recitation, zikr, etc., visiting the cemetery to make dua for the dead. One may fast on the 13th and 14th as well, for it is sunnat to fast on the 13th, 14th, and 15thof every Islamic month. UTILIZE THE BLESSED MOMENTS OF SHA’BAAN TO PREPARE FOR THE BLESSED MONTH OF RAMADAAN.Prepared by: PE DARUL-ULOOM, Port Elizabeth Back to Homepage | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
