THE IRAQI JIHAD

IRAQ'S HOUR OF NEED; The Crisis in Perspective
(by PE Darul-Uloom)

THE INEVITABLE VIOLATION of Iraq’s sovereignty by invading Kuffar forces is well underway. The Muslims in Iraq have to date endured four days of intense bombardment and aggression. Only those experiencing such a barrage of bombing will know exactly the horrific and terrifying proportions of such an attack. Worldwide, Muslims and non-Muslims alike have quite rightly come out in violent rejection of this US-led aggression against the people of Iraq. This oppressive strike bears no trace of justification whatsoever, from whichever angle one considers it. The US and British led invasion of Iraq is a flagrant violation of all international laws and treaties, and is, in fact, a sinister design of Shaytaan towards global dominance. While such evil plots need to be condemned in the harshest of terms, such condemnation alone is insufficient to halt the diabolic designs of American and British kuffar.

For the benefit of those Muslims who still remain in doubt as to the illegitimacy of this invasion, consider the matter from a Shar’ee perspective. According to Islamic Law, no country has the right to impose upon another the demand to destroy its weapons, or to allow foreigners to conduct forced inspections of its weapon facilities, or to call for its leadership to resign or go into exile. It is, therefore, ridiculous of some Muslim governments to urge the Iraqi leader to submit to these unreasonable demands of the American President.

We agree that the Iraqi government committed serious blunders in the past that have forced this situation upon themselves, but at this hour of need all Muslims must rally around the Muslims of Iraq, regardless of how popular or not is Saddam Husein and his regime. This is a clear battle between Islam and Kufr, and no amount of political argumentation will change that.

It is most regrettable that in this hour of dire need there is not a single Muslim country that can stand up in defence of its fellow Muslims. Yet, according to Shar’ee law, when one Muslim country is under attack, it is wajib for its neighbours to some to their rescue and assistance. And if their neighbours are unable to do so for whatever reason, this responsibility devolves upon the next adjacent Muslim country, and so forth. However, in this day and age of materialism every Muslim country has got vested interests which makes it a gigantic task to got to arms.

British Soldiers Surrender in Town Near Nasiriyadh: Iraq

AN UNSPECIFIED NUMBER of British soldiers have surrendered in a small town near Nasiriyadh in southern Iraq, Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf said on Saturday

An unspecified number of British soldiers have surrendered in a small town near Nasiriyadh in southern Iraq, Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf said on Saturday.

He told a press conference that the media accounts by the US-led coalition were "misleading" and "lies" as Iraqi forces were still engaged in fighting with invading troops in and around Umm Qasr, a port in southern Iraq and the front line of the aggressors have been stopped due to resistance by Iraqi soldiers.

There was a large number of casualties on the side of the US-led forces, he said.

In the strategic Faw peninsula, the Iraqi soldiers were still in position and fighting, he said.

The Iraqi forces have also destroyed five enemy tanks and a number of military vehicles in fighting near Nasiriyadh, 360 kilometers to the south of Baghdad.

The British soldiers who have surrendered are kept with the local tribal families in the small town, according to the Iraqi minister.

Sahaf said 207 civilians, most of them women and children, were wounded in the massive US and British bombardment on Baghdad Friday night.

They were "hit in their homes" and were being treated in five hospitals around the capital, said the minister, adding that "I invite you to visit them and ask them how and where they were hurt."

On Friday evening, the United States launched heavy bombings on Baghdad and the northern cities of Mosul and Kirkuk with B-52 bombers and cruise missiles as part of its "shock and awe operation."

During the air strikes, US forces fired about 320 missiles at Baghdad and surrounding areas, according to Rear Admiral Matthew G.Moffit, commander of the Kitty Hawk battle group deployed in the Gulf.

Despite mounting international opposition, the United States launched its war against Iraq at 0530 a.m. (0230 GMT) on Thursday, in a bid to topple Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
