OUR
MUSJID AND ITS AADAAB
Almighty Allah states in The Glorious
Quran:
"And who is more unjust that he
who prevents the Name of Allah being taken in His Masaajid, and he strives
towards its desolation. Such people had no right to enter those Houses of Allah
but in a state of fear (for Allah)."
Surah Baqarah, verse
The above aayat of Quran Kareem
emphasises the importance of two things:
1) The purpose of a Musjid is that
the Name of Allah should be recited therein, and anyone who hinders or
obstructs this purpose is guilty of grave injustice, according to the above
verse of Al-Quran.
2) When entering the House of Allah,
one should be filled with fear for the Almighty Alllah.
This brings us to further Adaab of the
Musjid.
Upon entering the Musjid contemplate
the Greatness of Allah and imagine you are walking into the Supreme Court of
Allah. There were Auliyaa of the past who used to fall unconscious upon entering
the Musjid because they were overwhelmed with the fear of Allah. This fear and
respect should lead one to observe the following:
1) Removal of shoes before entry into
the Musjid.
2) Reciting the dua mentioned in our
earlier publication.
3) Performing tahiyyatul-musjid. In
fact, whenever one passes by any Musjid and has free time, go inside and offer
two rakaats nafl salah. It appears in the hadith sharif that among the signs
of Qiyamat is the habit of people to pass by a Musjid and not offer salah
therein. This also means that if the faradh salah is about to begin and one
happens to be near the Musjid, it is compulsory to go inside and perform the
salah. How many times we see our Muslim brothers driving pass, or standing
right outside the Musjid but do not come inside for salah.
4) Not to indulge in any act inside
the Musjid that disturbs others or interferes with their ibadat. The purpose
of the Musjid is salah, which comprises the remembrance of Allah. So, it will
not be permissible to raise the voice, to argue and shout, to read Quran
Shareef loud, to make zikr or dua loudly, inside the Musjid while people are
busy in salah, for all these acts disturb the musallee (the one offering
salah, the actual purpose of the Musjid). Similarly, even talks in the Musjid
should be given when people have finished reading their sunnats.

Give glad tidings of a complete Noor on Qiyamat Day, for those who walk towards
the Musjid.
