A FEW VIRTUES
OF RAMADAAN
Almighty Allah revealed to Nabi Moosa (alayhis salaam):
O Moosa! When the month of Ramadaan enters I command the
bearers of My Throne to stop all worship. Then, whenever the fasting people
make a dua, these Angels say ameen. And I have made it compulsory upon myself
not to reject the dua of those who fast in Ramadaan.
O Moosa! I command the heavens, the earth, the mountains,
the animals and the insects to make dua of maghfirat for those who observe the
fast of Ramadaan. And I shall not bring down my punishment on any place
wherein there are at least three people fasting in Ramadaan.
Hazrat Ubadah bin Saamit (radhiyallahu anhu) says that one
day when Ramadaan started, Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said to us:
The Month of Barkat has dawned upon you. Allah covers you
in mercy during this month. Mercy descends, sins are forgiven, and duas are
accepted. Allah looks at how you compete with each other in good deeds in this
month, and He boasts about you among the Angels. So from your side, show Allah
the best, for indeed, a wretched person is he who is deprived of the mercy of
Allah in this month.
