Sayings of The Holy Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wasallam
ON EARNINGS
The
son of Adam exclaims: ‘My wealth, My wealth!’, but what wealth do you really
own except that which you had eaten and finished, or worn and rendered old, or
given in charity and sent forth to the hereafter. (Mishkaat)
No one has
eaten anything better than that which he has earned with his own two hands.
(Bukhari)
ON WORSHIP
"Verily the Deen is easy. And none shall regard the
Deen difficult, but it shall (then really) overpower him. So adopt the
moderate and straight path, seek closeness to Allah, accept the glad tidings
of Jannat. Seek help through the morning and evening prayers, and a small part
of the latter night." (Bukhari)
The most
envied of my friends is the Believer who has a small family and fewer
responsibilities; he has a large share of salah, offers good worship unto his
Lord, obeys Him in private; he is not well known to people and no fingers are
pointed to him; he is granted a sparse rizq but is content with it. (Then
Rasoolullah (r)
snapped his fingers and said) Suddenly this believer’s death comes. Few are
his mourners and modest is his estate. (Tirmizhi) (Such a person deserves to
be envied)
