Sayings of The Holy Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wasallam

The Deen of Islam is Naseehat (sincerity and goodwill).
The Sahaaba asked: "For whom, O Prophet of Allah?". He replied: "For Allah, His Book, His Messenger, the Leaders of the Muslims and for the general public.

Sincerity to Allah means maintaining correct belief in Him, following His orders and shunning His prohibitions, and offering worship sincerely for Him and him alone.

Sincerity to the Book of Allah means believing in it, practising according to its teachings and reciting it regularly. Sincerity to the Messenger of Allah means believing in him and whatever he brought from Allah, following in his footsteps and abiding by his teachings.

Sincerity and goodwill towards the Muslim leaders means obeying them in whatever is true, not rebelling against them even if they commit injustice, accepting and following the rulings of the Ulama. For the general Muslim public goodwill will mean sharing with them the laws and teachings of Allah, protecting them from harm and doing whatever possible to benefit them.

"The hand above is better than the hand below"
The hand above is the hand of the giver, while the hand below is the hand of the taker. So it is better to be giving to others than taking from others, especially in charity.
